Harvard University (Global rank: 1)

It is ranked second worldwide and given a score of 97.7. The institution, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has approximately 11,000 students and 60 percent of them study at the undergraduate level.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Global rank: 2)

Established in 1885, it is ranked globally and third in the US with a score of 95.2. It is located in the Bay Area of California.

This other university, University of California Berkeley is fourth best in both the world and the US with an 88.7 overall score.
