Candidate must have completed Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university with minimum 50 percent aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45 percentile for SC, ST and PWD/DA category).

- CAT 2024 is a computer based test of 2 hours duration which will be 120 minutes.
- CAT 2024 exam will have 66 questions divided into 3 sections of VARC, DILR and Quantitative Ability and earlier it had 100 questions divided into three sections.
- Out of 66 questions, there will be 18 or more questions in which there will be no negative marking.
- CAT 2024 exam is divided into MCQ and non-MCQ type questions and non-MCQs do not have negative marking.
- If any non-MCQ has negative marking, some MCQs are converted into questions without negative marking.
- More than 48 questions in CAT 2024 are of MCQ type and will attract a penalty of 1/3 negative marking.
